1.1 Account Information (Business Owners)

When you sign up for RentBot, we collect:
- Name and email address (via Google sign-in or email registration)
- Payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we do not store card details)
- Business information you provide (business name, phone number, inventory, pricing)

1.2 Messaging Data (End Customers)

When customers message a business through WhatsApp, Instagram, or Facebook Messenger, we receive and store:
- Phone number or social media profile identifier
- Message content (text and media sent to and from the business)
- Conversation metadata (timestamps, message status)

This data is received through the Meta Platform APIs (WhatsApp Business API, Instagram Messaging API, Messenger API) and is used solely to facilitate automated responses and booking management on behalf of the business.

1.3 Booking Data

When a booking is created through a conversation, we store:
- Customer name and contact information
- Booking dates, items, and pricing
- Booking status

1.4 Non-Personal Data

We use cookies and similar technologies to collect non-personal data such as IP address, browser type, and browsing patterns to improve our services.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected data to:
- Provide and operate the RentBot platform
- Process and respond to customer messages on behalf of businesses via AI-powered chatbot
- Create and manage bookings
- Process payments through Stripe
- Send notifications to business owners about new messages and bookings
- Improve our services and user experience

3. Meta Platform Data

We access Meta Platform Data (WhatsApp, Instagram, and Messenger messages) exclusively to:
- Receive and display customer messages in the business dashboard
- Generate AI-powered responses to customer inquiries about availability, pricing, and bookings
- Create bookings based on customer conversations

We do NOT:
- Sell, rent, or trade Meta Platform Data to third parties
- Use Meta Platform Data for advertising or profiling
- Share message content with anyone other than the business that received it
- Retain Meta Platform Data after a business deletes their account

4. Data Sharing

We share data only with the following service providers, strictly as needed to operate the Platform:
- Stripe: payment processing
- OpenAI: AI-powered message responses (message content is sent to generate replies)
- Meta: sending and receiving messages via their APIs
- MongoDB Atlas: database hosting
- Vercel: application hosting

We do not sell or rent personal data to any third party.

5. Data Retention

- Account data is retained as long as your account is active
- Conversation and booking data is retained as long as the associated business account is active
- Upon account deletion, all associated data (conversations, bookings, inventory) is deleted within 30 days

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure authentication (OAuth 2.0)
- Webhook signature verification for all incoming Meta API data
- Access controls limiting data visibility to the relevant business owner

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Export your data
- Withdraw consent at any time
